Law Enforcement

Weed & Seed neighborhoods benefit from an enhanced police presence, with substations centrally located in each neighborhood. Specially trained Weed & Seed officers are also assigned to these neighborhoods.
The officers are focused on:
- Reducing firearms offenses by youth offenders
- Decreasing the sale and abuse of illegal drugs
- Decreasing the number of minor offenses
- Implementing plans for apprehending and trying adult and juvenile violators
HOW YOU CAN HELP
- To report a crime that requires immediate attention, call 911.
- To report criminal activity in your neighborhood, call your district captain.
- Or submit a Silent Complaint Form.

The Strategy
Weed and Seed, a community-based strategy sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), is an innovative, comprehensive multiagency approach to law enforcement, crime prevention, and community revitalization. Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO) oversees the Weed and Seed initiative.
